I'm Amie and I created Better Than Friends out of sheer frustration. I felt strongly, my future shouldn't rely on an algorithm or dating app. 

Fresh out of a divorce and mom to two teenagers, I was standing at the edge of my next chapter. While looking for opportunities for genuine connection, all I could see was a sea of dating apps. Swipe left, swipe right, but where was the actual connection: the endless ghosting, doctored profiles, feeling like a number in someone's feed. It wasn't just exhausting, it was degrading. 

In that moment, I realized this isn't just my struggle. It's all of ours. We've traded real conversations for tiny screens and lost the magic of meeting face-to-face. Better Than Friends was born from the belief that we deserve better. More than casual encounters – a way to actually meet, connect and build something real.
